The Rockstud Spike Bag marks the beginning of Pier Paolo Piccioli’s role as sole creative director at Valentino, following the departure of Maria Grazia Chiuri who moved to Dior.

Piccioli’s personal variation on a blockbuster icon, the new Rockstud Spike bonds the house’s core values – the highest form of Italian craftsmanship with the desire to break away from tradition and rules with a rock, human, street, volatile and contemporary attitude. In supple quilted leather, it is dotted by baby studs that add a punkish twist to express your personality, character and attitude. The handle placed between the shoulder strap and the body is the adaptable piece that transforms the accessory into a fun must-have, lending itself to countless ways of personalization.

To give life to its value, Piccioli has teamed up with photographer Terry Richardson for a bold, raw-edged and dynamic ad campaign shot on the streets of lower Manhattan, in New York. Randomly picked common people were asked to carry the bag, interpreting it with their own look and style. Such characters, stories and predilections narrate the value of diversity and the richness of being unique. Such are the qualities celebrated by the Rockstud Spike without any distinction of gender, race, culture or social belonging.
